In order to choose the right fabric for diapers as much as possible, it is imperative to take into account the time of the year, the activity of your baby and the presence of the desired cloth in the store.

Peculiarities

Many modern mothers have long noticed the obvious fact that swaddling for newborns is very useful, for this reason it is worth immediately identifying positive aspects of this baby product:

  • any fabrics for diapers are easily washed, they are the most comfortable for the baby;
  • heat-regulating products will not allow the baby to overheat or, on the contrary, freeze;
  • their warmth will soothe the baby and help him fall asleep quickly after swaddling;
  • swaddling speed;
  • helps during feeding, because babies often spit up, it is not a pity to spoil the diaper in this regard;
  • can easily replace an ordinary sheet in a baby's crib or on a special changing table;
  • practically irreplaceable if you went for a walk with your baby;
  • the baby sleeps well in such a soft diaper.

Description of species

For the production of baby diapers, manufacturers choose materials of various quality characteristics.

  • Chintz. Mothers choose this kind of products from good calico if their plans include long walks with the baby both in the winter and in the summer months. Usually, diapers are sewn from 100% cotton fabric. The chintz fabric is very dense in structure, sometimes it becomes more rigid after repeated washings, and may not become too soft for easy swaddling of the baby.
  • Flannel... Products for children made of warm flannel fabric are excellent for the winter season - they will protect the baby well from the cold air, and after an evening swim they can serve as a warm blanket. However, due to the increased density of weaving of the fibers, the air permeability of the flannel fabric is too low, and pills may appear on the fabric over time. Also, this material dries for a long time after washing or getting wet. Certain types of flannel wrinkle a lot, but this material can be easily smoothed out.
  • Knitwear. This kind of diaper is perfect for a very active baby, they are elastic, give him more room for the necessary body movements. The knitted fabric is soft, perfectly stretches, perfect as a diaper for warm seasons.

In such fabrics, special attention should be paid to their composition so that no elastane or polyester is added to them.

  • Muslin - extremely light and soft, almost loose fabric with a very rare type of weaving, outwardly very similar to ordinary gauze. In order to create muslin diapers, gauze fabric is simply stitched in 3-4 layers (this may directly depend on the specific season). The most common are two-layer diapers. Muslin fabrics are considered the most suitable for delicate baby skin. In the heat, the baby will not be hot in them.
  • Bike... It is considered the most ideal option for winter and therefore is used very actively during this period of the year. Warm products, with villi on 2 sides, are extraordinarily soft, but very light at the same time. A wet bike will be able to maintain its excellent heat-shielding properties, which will help to avoid hypothermia of the child. This fabric is very soft, warm enough and hygienic in its properties.
  • Bamboo. Diapers are made of artificial, but not synthetic fibers, the main qualities of which are softness, special silkiness, extraordinary lightness and hypoallergenicity.

What to consider when choosing?

What you should definitely pay special attention to in order to choose high-quality fabric for the diaper.

  • The first criterion is quality of the selected fabric. Try to stretch the selected fabric a little for the future changing product - if it starts to tear, it is immediately clear that this is a poor quality fabric. It is worth opting for a durable and reliable fabric.
  • Smells... The fabric for the diaper should not smell strange, the fabric should be as soft to the touch as possible. If it seems to you that the chosen product is too tough, it is better to refuse to purchase it.
  • Absorption percentage... The cloth for diapers must "breathe" well, and it must also perfectly absorb any moisture.
  • Also, as a fabric for diapers, you should not choose materials with too bright, too acidic patterns or images. These kinds of colors will negatively affect the psyche of the baby. In addition, such bright patterns can shed heavily, which means they can leave marks on the delicate skin of a newborn. It is best to opt for fabrics with soft, calm patterns or solid materials in pastel colors.
  • Better do not take fabric of synthetic origin, and give preference to fabrics made from ecological natural fibers.

Most importantly, when choosing a cloth for a diaper, so that the baby himself will like it. See how comfortable he feels when using a diaper of one fabric or another.
