The bedroom should be nice and cozy. Even the most brutal and tough people will not dispute this. One of the non-standard solutions is the installation of a fireplace. However, you will have to use it very thoughtfully and carefully.

Peculiarities

Modern city apartments have become much more comfortable than the most luxurious private houses built several centuries ago. Instead of fireplaces, many other heating methods have appeared, which are both practical, economical and safer. However, in terms of space design, it is the "good old" fireplace that remains unrivaled. It is quite appropriate to install it in the bedroom, where such a hearth will definitely add coziness and comfort.

Exists a range of design solutions that allow fireplaces to fit into even the most modern interiors.

Manufacturers have launched a significant number of hearth models. Along with them, there are also all kinds of imitators. They are much safer than a full-fledged fireplace. In this case, the effect of "staying in a country estate" will still be ensured. There are a large number of interior styles, in each of which a fireplace will be appropriate.

Stylistics

Fireplaces of classic design have a lot of carved details and stucco moldings. This decision immediately makes the item more luxurious. Sometimes natural stone is used for decoration. A cheaper and easier option is decorating with textured lines. In a high-tech or minimalist setting, designs with a simpler design and without additional details are recommended.

They are mainly made tempered glass which are perfectly safe. The heating block is in the middle.

Typically, these fireplaces are placed along the wall. Designers provide for a variety of heating modes. High-tech hearths look impressive, immediately attract attention.

Varieties and selection

The reluctance of many people to put a fireplace in the apartment is quite understandable. The word itself is associated with a very large product that takes up a lot of space and constantly emits a "scent" of soot that spreads fumes. Fortunately, technologists have been able to solve a similar problem. Now there are fireplaces "Suitable" even for a small bedroom that is small and works perfectly safe. If the power is cut off, the fire goes out by itself without any risk.

Quite widespread fireplaces with natural gas. A special burner in them is located strictly in the middle. This arrangement is the most rational from an engineering point of view.

The only thing is that you will have to connect the hearth to a gas main or to a cylinder. In addition, the gas is toxic and can explode.

A safer option is an electric fireplace. Important: the vast majority of electrical foci are calculated for a voltage of 220 V. If it is different, special measures will have to be taken. In addition, electric fireplaces can be controlled with a remote control. They are often used as a lighting aid.

A good alternative is often false fireplace. Since there is no real fire inside, the designers get complete freedom. They can bring to life the most daring and extraordinary ideas. However, it must be borne in mind that false fireplaces are usually used as the main decorative element in the room. Therefore, there are simply no trifles in its structure and appearance!

Refusal from the chimney and other bulky elements:

  • greatly simplifies the work;
  • makes it cheaper;
  • accelerates the time frame for creating a composition.

In addition, false fireplaces can be installed without permission from the fire authorities. Those will not have a reason for claims during a routine check. Sometimes an imitation of a hearth is built around a radiator.

In this case, you do not even need to use additional heating devices. Important: if an imitation fireplace surrounds the radiator, it must be made of non-combustible materials.

Biofireplaces deserve a separate discussion. They have a special burner, usually surrounded by decorative details. These details can reproduce the appearance of ordinary firewood or extinguishing coals. Sometimes natural stone is imitated. The biofuel is usually ethanol, which burns without generating unpleasant odors or toxic gases.

Education is also completely excluded:

  • soot;
  • dust;
  • soot particles;
  • sparks.

The only combustion products are carbon dioxide and water vapor. Since the biofireplace emits exactly the same amount of gases as a burning candle, there is no need for special chimneys or for enhanced ventilation. There are options with open and closed alcohol tanks. Important: both types of containers should be refilled only after turning off the fireplace, when it has completely cooled down. Some versions are equipped with sound simulators of the flame, which makes them work even more realistic.

Built-in hearths with open flames are advised to be installed even at the stage of building a house. It will be too difficult and dangerous to do this later. Wall-mounted structures are most common.

Their important advantage is their affordable cost. Island fireplaces are rarely used because they are only appropriate in fairly large bedrooms.

"Islands" have a very low efficiency and will be able to warm up only one room in which they are located. Another drawback is the significant area of the zone with an increased fire hazard. In terms of heating, fireplaces with a one-sided firebox are considered the best solution. With regard to power, 1 kW is considered sufficient for heating 25 sq. m. total area.

Another nuance: when practical qualities come first, you need to use non-brick ones, and cast iron or steel structuresas they spread heat faster.

How to equip a fireplace area correctly?

For all the importance of technical subtleties, the beautiful design of a bedroom with a fireplace also cannot be "discounted". Qualified interior designers give preference to restrained, laconic styles, because a natural hearth or its artificial imitation should equally create the feeling of a strict, but cozy and comfortable space. There should not be too much furniture and decorative items around. And what will nevertheless be must be absolutely resistant to fire.

The sleeping area will only benefit from the skillful use of color accents and a variety of textures. As a complement to the composition, use special textiles. Matching it in color with the fireplace itself or choosing a contrasting combination is the business of the owners themselves.

Even high-end designers hesitate to impose their opinion on this point. To visually enlarge the bedrooms, mirrors are used that are placed above the hearth; in modern areas of the interior, however, there is most often a TV.
