Very often, many girls are faced with this kind of situation, when a blouse seen in a fashion magazine seems to be the ideal option, but it is impossible to find such, or at least a similar thing in the store. Or, it is impossible to purchase a thing from one of the fashion brands because of the too high cost.

There is no need to despair, because there is always a way out of any situation, and in this case there is undoubtedly one. There is a sewing machine in almost every home, and fabric per meter, along with other sewing accessories, will come out much cheaper than a finished product. That is why, the best way out of this situation will be to sew the desired product on your own.

Necessary accessories

As with any business, tailoring requires the presence of some mandatory attributes, which are indispensable. Let's take a closer look at what details of sewing accessories are needed, as well as what is important to consider when sewing a blouse with a simple cut.

Sewing machine

It doesn't matter which model your sewing machine is, the main thing is that it works properly and does not have any defects that adversely affect the appearance and quality of the fabric.

An important factor is the correct choice of a sewing needle corresponding to the type of fabric, because otherwise, a too thick needle may leave not neat, too large holes on the material.

It is also worth noting that for the convenience of the sewing process itself, it is worth choosing a foot operated machine, thanks to which both your hands will remain free, and you can hold and straighten the product without any effort.

Material selection

When choosing a material for a blouse, you do not have to set any strict limits for yourself, since various models of blouses can be made from a completely different fabric.

Distinctive features may relate only to the style or model of your desired blouse. So, for example, for a summer model with a short sleeve, or even without it, linen fabric, light chiffon or cotton are perfect.

A simple straight blouse is best made from cotton, while an elegant, dressy model is best made from silk.

Pattern

Nowadays, making a pattern does not require any special work, since the necessary attributes are only specialized paper, a pencil and a ruler.

Instructions for making patterns for the product you like can be easily found on the Internet, the main thing is just to follow them clearly so as not to confuse anything. But if the blouse model was invented and developed by you personally, you will also have to carefully work on making the pattern.

Volume measurement

It is quite obvious that the creation of a pattern is impossible without careful measurement of the volume of the body required for sewing the product in accordance with the required size. Since the pattern is made in half pieces, the results obtained during the measurement should be divided in half.

Depending on the model of the blouse, certain measurements will be necessary, but the standard sizes always remain the same:

  • length of the product;
  • sleeve opening width;
  • chest girth;
  • waist circumference;
  • hip girth.

Depending on individual preference, the neckline can be of absolutely any depth; moreover, if the product has a high collar, it is also necessary to measure the neck circumference.

In addition, if you have a sleeve, you need to decide on its length and measure the arm in several places, namely in the area of the biceps, forearm and wrist, as well as determine the width of the cuffs.

It should be borne in mind that if you want to sew a blouse with a free cut, you need to add a few centimeters to the results obtained during the measurement, and also leave a couple of centimeters for seam allowances.

Summer blouse with a stitched belt with a bow

This model of a blouse is made of soft material, pleasant to the body, has a light free cut, which makes it especially popular for the warm season. And the pattern and the sewing process itself are surprisingly simple, even those who have never dealt with a sewing machine can cope with this task. The model has a one-piece sleeve, for its production you can choose light linen or cotton fabrics. Let's consider directly the process of manufacturing the product.

It is necessary to make a pattern in accordance with the volume of your body, taking into account the loose fit of the blouse and leaving a few centimeters for the seams. Then, in accordance with the paper pattern, we cut out the necessary parts from the fabric.

  1. The next step is to grind the seams on the sides, but at the same time you need to leave an unstitched section about ten centimeters long, in the place where you think of a side cut.
  2. Then, it is necessary to sweep the shoulder seams and sweep the throat sections so that the fabric does not fray.
  3. It is necessary to bend the seam allowance to the wrong side and lay a line that is no more than half a centimeter wide.
  4. The next step is to iron the hemmed throat cuts, as well as the wrinkled areas of fabric that may have formed during sewing. It is best to use a type of fabric that lends itself well to high temperatures and conforms to the desired shape.
  5. Next, the shoulder seams are sewn, in the process of which it is necessary to simultaneously capture the ends of the throat sections, which have already been processed in advance.
  6. It is necessary to sweep the seams on the sides and along the shoulder lines, as well as the area left for the incision should be swept from both sides.
  7. Then the side cuts are ironed to the front side and the section for the incision and shoulder seams are ironed out.
  8. Then you need to lay a line along the sides of the cut, which is a continuation of one of the side seams. This stitch will be the reinforcement stitch and must be ironed.
  9. We sweep the bottom sections of the one-piece sleeves.
  10. It is necessary to bend these same cuts of the sleeves along the bottom, and then make a line, the width of which is about half a centimeter. Some sewing machine models even have an option called a free arm.

Next, you need to decide on the width of the belt and cut out the corresponding part, making a notch in the middle of it, as on the front and back parts.

After that, the notches are aligned and the control measurements of the belt parts and the lower cut of the blouse.

It is also necessary to mark the beginning and end of the line for attaching the belt, if you wish, you can leave the ends for the strings, making them as follows:

  • you need to fold and sew the ends of the strings to a certain mark;
  • allowances must be cut off and marked at the beginning of the stitching on the belt;
  • it is necessary to unscrew the ties and straighten the corner parts;
  • the allowance with a mark also needs to be turned to the front side.
  1. The resulting part of the belt must be attached to the bottom of the cut of the blouse, aligning the marks, with the front parts to each other, and then chop them off with special needles.
  2. Then you need to sew on the details of the belt, observing accuracy, start and finish the seam exactly from the mark at the cut.
  3. Then you need to iron the seam allowance and cut off the excess part.
  4. Next, you need to turn the belt part to the wrong side, bend it inward along the cut line and pin it for convenience, and then stitch it with a line of no more than two tenths of a centimeter.

Note: When hemming the seam allowance, you can initially use an iron, and then pin it with pins. Can be used with hand stitches. Depending on personal preference, everyone chooses the most convenient way.

The stitching should be from the right side, being exactly on the edge of the waistband piece.

At the end of the work, you need to go along all the lines of the seams and remove the threads remaining in the excess, as well as iron the product.

Summer short sleeve blouse

This model has a simple cut, one-piece short sleeve, and the pattern itself consists of two parts. A free style is very relevant in the summer heat and will be the place for any walks with friends or even evening events. It should be noted that for sewing a blouse of this model, it is best to choose a light fabric, for example, chiffon, linen or viscose.

  1. To begin with, you need to make a pattern consisting of two parts and corresponding to the parameters of your body.
  2. Before transferring the pattern to the fabric and cutting out the necessary details, the material must be thoroughly smoothed out from the wrong side, for further convenience.
  3. After the parts are cut from the fabric, you need to sweep the parts to each other along the side and shoulder cuts. It is also necessary to tag on the seamy side.
  4. The lower part of the blouse should be folded two times, ironed for better fixation. If necessary, you can sweep the resulting fold or fix it with special needles, and then stitch it on a sewing machine.
  5. The throat section also needs to be beautifully decorated. It is best to sew on a bias tape, the front and back parts of which must be cut from the same fabric. For convenience, it is better to first cut out the parts from paper, and their width should be about six centimeters.
  6. The resulting parts must be folded right side to each other and stitched from the inside out, while adjusting the edges and sewing the parts around the throat cut.
  7. The lower part of the neckline must be seamed with an overlock seam on a typewriter so that the fabric does not tangle. Then, you need to bend the parts inward, to the seamy side and sew around the neckline.
  8. In addition, you need to fold and hem the edges of the sleeves.
  9. Upon completion of sewing a blouse of this model, it is necessary to check all the seams, cut off excess threads and iron the product well.
